This tour is based on a 7 days/6 nights trip to the Black Forest Germany, leaving from and returning to Folkestone. We will take 2 days to get there, night stopping in France, spending 3 full days exploring the Black Forest and then taking another 2 days to return home, with a last night stop in France again. The tour is also suitable for pillions.
The Black Forest has miles of twisty mountain roads, hill climbs and the famous B500 to explore, so you can be sure of a good time. Plus, as always, there will be 2 experienced and fully qualified Advanced Riding Skills trainers on hand to provide free coaching, advice and exercises to practise should you wish.
As this is YOUR holiday, you are free to decide where you would like to go each day. You may wish to simply ride with the group or make your own trails/adventures – the choice is yours!
The price includes the return Eurotunnel crossing for bike and rider, 6 nights B&B in shared (twin) rooms and the expertise of your tour leaders.
The itinerary will be loosely based on the following:
Day 1 - Approximately 220 miles with an early doors Eurotunnel crossing to Calais and then a leisurely ride to reach the B&B accommodation in France to sample the great French cuisine.
Day 2 - Approximately 176 miles, which takes in an optional local battlefield tour with guide (price not included), then another leisurely ride into Germany arriving late afternoon for our 3 day stay in the Black Forest.
Day 3 - The mileage will vary based on the route taken, but it is a chance to start to get to know the Black Forest. A visit to the world’s biggest cuckoo clock is a must (just be sure to get there for noon!). We also plan to ride the local hill climb (paved roads), which follows a spectacular route through the forest.
Day 4 - The mileage will vary based on the route taken, but we have a more restful day. Perhaps a good day to sample your first (and best) authentic Black Forest Gateau, whilst enjoying the Mummelsee and its legends.
Day 5 - The mileage will vary based on the route taken as we explore Kloster Allerheiligen, Allerheilig Wasserfälle and the Hohengeroldseck castle ruins, which has stunning views across the Black Forest.
Day 6 - We begin our journey home with approximately 244 miles. The ride takes us back into France with a final overnight stop to sample yet more fine French cuisine!
Day 7 - Approximately 164 miles as we finish making our way across France to get a late afternoon Eurotunnel back to Folkestone.
So new experiences, a biking holiday and free training to DVSA, IAM and RoSPA standards - what more could you wish for?
Price includes your Eurotunnel return fare, 6 nights B&B accommodation in shared (twin) rooms and the support of 2 trainers.
